If you are a music lover, going to a festival in the middle of Africa is an unforgettable experience. We offer you an exciting route through Dakar and the North of the country and finishing at the Saint Louis Jazz Festival.

Day 1: Dakar
Arrival at Dakar airport, and pickup by car and transfer to hotel (Novotel Dakar or similar).

Day 2: Dakar / Gorée Island
After breakfast, we start the visit of the capital. We visit the Tiléne market, known for its medicinal herbs and the traditional commerce. We will also discover the Carmel market, with its magnificent structure from the colonial period, and we will go around the city. In the afternoon we will board the ship and head to the charming Gorée Island. We will make a guided visit at the Slaves’ house, its museum and to the Island. Finally we will enjoy our leisure time to get lost in its alleys. We go back at the hotel.

Day 3: Pink Lake / Dakar Dunes / Saint Louis / Jazz Festival Opening
We leave up early in the morning and head to the Pink Lake, a place that seems taken from a fantasy world, and where economy turns around salt extraction from its salmon-colored waters. Our next visit will be the Peul ethnic group on a 4x4. We will pass by the famous dunes, arrival place for the famous Paris-Dakar rally vehicles. At night we will attend the Opening show for the Saint Louis Jazz Festival. We spent the night at Siki Hotel or similar.

Day 4: Djoud National Park / Saint Louis / Jazz Festival
Breakfast and departure towards Djoudj National Park, declared World Heritage by UNESCO, for its spaciousness and its thanks to its magnificent biodiversity (it is the third ornithological reserve in the world with 12,000 acres). From November to March, three million birds gather in the park, on their emigration from the European colds, seeking refuge in a warmer climate. In order to reach birds observation points, we will embark on a canoe outing from where we will be able to watch pelicans, flamingos, osprey, and many species of ducks, and kingfisher cormorants.
In the afternoon we go back to Saint Louis, where we will enjoy the main Jazz Festival concerts. We will host at the Siki hotel or similar.

Day 5 and 6: Saint Louis Jazz Festival
We will have 2 free days to participate and attend the different shows from the festival, at the same time we will visit the main Saint Louis attractions. Saint Louis stands out by its colonial style houses, and by being located partly in an Island in the middle of the Senegal River mouth. This city was the ancient colonial capital, so it is full of historic sites, like the famous Faidherbe bridge (500 m long), which was built by Gustave Eiffel in 1897. We will sleep in the Siki hotel or similar.

Day 7: Saint Louis / Touba / Dakar
After breakfast we go back to Dakar, with a stop to visit the saint city of Touba, We pass through the Saint City of Touba, cradle of the most important Muslim confraternity in Senegal, the Mourid Brotherhood. Touba is a pilgrim place for many faithful Muslims, therefore it is considered as the Senegalese Mecca. It is an arid and majestic city with one of the biggest mosques in all Western Africa. From there we will head to the airport to take our return flight.
